"Who are you to judge the life I live?
I know I'm not perfect
and I don't live to be
but before you start pointing fingers...
make sure your hands are clean."
In other words:
"Judge not, that you be not judged. For with the judgment you pronounce you will be judged, and with the measure you use it will be measured to you. Why do you see the speck that is in your brother’s eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye? Or how can you say to your brother, 'Let me take the speck out of your eye,' when there is the log in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother’s eye."
Matthew 7:1-5
Why do we spend so much time judging others when we could be improving ourselves?
My one wish for Christians everywhere is that they stop judging. You may not always agree with other people's beliefs, but if they are not hurting you in any way, why try to change them?
This is one of my biggest pet peeves about Christians. It clearly states in the bible that we are not supposed to judge others. Yet so many people still do it. Even as Christians, we put down other parts of Christianity. Catholic, Lutheran, Evangelical - we all believe in the same heaven, the same God; we just choose to express and celebrate our beliefs in different ways.
Instead of discovering how our differences can potentially drive us apart, wouldn't it benefit us more to focus on how our similarities can bring us together? How we can change the world by uniting in our love for Jesus Christ, who died so unselfishly so that we could have life and have it to the fullest?
I'm not saying that you have to love everyone. I know how difficult it is to love people, sometimes even those that are closest to you. But think about it this way - everyone is deserving of love.
"You must love each other, just as I have loved you."
John 13:34
With that being said, let's step it up. Let's focus on improving ourselves and the world around us that desperately needs our help instead of bringing others down - others that are trying to reach the same goal that we are. We just need to be better people. It's really that simple.

I love that song! It came on my iPod the other day while I was outside walking, and I almost started singing out loud!
