So this surprise actually came to us last year, at the beginning of December. But it's coming to you all right now, in this new year. And it's a big surprise....ready for it?
I don't think you are...
Because here's the surprise...
I know, right?
Me and this sweet boy are having a baby.
Scared? Yes.
Excited? Yes.
Ready for it? Um, is anyone ever ready for a baby?
My due date is August 4. I'm scared out of my mind. Am I strong enough to be a mother?! I've always wanted this day to come, I just didn't think it would come so soon. But if others can do it, I can too. That's what I keep telling myself. Luckily, my family has been so supportive and I love them even more for that.
Jesse and I had our first appointment at the doctor yesterday. We got to hear Baby's heartbeat! It was probably the craziest thing that I've ever heard. At first our doctor couldn't find it and Jesse had the most concerned look on his face. She kept finding mine, which was about 80 beats per minute. But finally, she found Baby's...170 beats per minute! It sounded a lot different than mine. (Julie says the heartbeat is so fast because "it's jogging down there, duh." :) ) Hearing the heartbeat made it so much more real for us. There actually is a little baby in there! Wow. After I heard it, I couldn't stop laughing, which made the ultrasound wand wiggle, so we didn't get to listen to it for too long.
Anyways, I'm 10 weeks, 3 days today. It's been going so slow so far! But now that I've had my first appointment, hopefully it will go faster. I have another appointment to look forward to in four weeks, to make sure everything is still going well with Baby. And hopefully by then I'll be through with all of this icky first trimester stuff! It definitely has not been fun, but my own mother says it's worth it. And she had the worst morning sickness of all time.
If you have any comments, questions, tips, etc, I would definitely prefer if you could send them confidentially, via either a Facebook message or an e-mail - JKreger23@hotmail.com.
And no, I don't have any baby bump pictures to post yet. I'm excited for the bump, but the doctor says with my body type I might not be showing until almost 5 months! So just be patient. :)
