Me? Blogging? Weird.

Well, here it is.  I've decided to start blogging.  Not that I'll have anything at all exciting to say about my life that people will actually want to read.  Truth is, my life is reallllllly boring.  Maybe once school starts things will liven up a bit.

Here are the highlights of my day so far:

I found this great new song by Rocky Votolato.  Actually, I found two great new songs, but I'm only going to post one of them because I absolutely fell in love with it.  It's so beautiful!  Ah, I'll post both.  Because now that I think about it, I can't choose which one I like better.
  • Lucky Clover Coin - this song makes me tear up.

  • Portland is Leaving

So in love.

I am currently at work.  We had our monthly work meeting today and my wonderful coworker Mirla brought cake!  CAKE!  Who would have ever thought to bring treats to a work meeting?  Well, it took us three years here at the Country Inn and Suites to figure out that treats make meetings quite a bit more bearable.  So, Mirla left the rest of the cake here at the hotel.  There is one piece left with a TON of chocolate frosting and yummy white and milk chocolate shavings all over it sitting right next to me.  So tempting.  Good thing I have a high metabolism.  I might have to dig into that in a bit.  :)  Mmm, chocolate makes everything so much better.

Last but not least, I'm learning español thanks to my good friend Brandon who is letting me use his free access to Rosetta Stone.  (Shhhh...don't tell the army.)  It's going pretty well so far.  I've learned that Rosetta Stone does not approve of the way I say sándwiches or bicicleta which is somewhat ironic since they are the closest words to the English language that I've learned so far.  Maybe I'm just not a good English speaker in the first place?  Must be my Minnesotan accent getting in the way.  He originally let me use it to learn Turkish (which I also would like to learn someday) but I decided to try out Spanish first.  Spanish is obviously a lot more helpful than Turkish in the United States.  But Turkish is so pretty!  Ohh, someday I'll be multilingual.

I got an email from The Nest today.  Such a fun website.  I mostly just look at it for decoration ideas, but there's a lot of other great topics on there, especially for those of you who might be getting married, buying a home (or multiple other things), or having a baby in the near future.  Anyways, in the e-mail there was a link to '30 Amazing Living Rooms' and the picture on the newsletter instantly caught my eye.  This living room looks organized, cozy, and relaxing.  I love the colors and the shelves!

That's all for now.  I'm going to eat cake y aprender más español.  ¡Adiós!
